Welcome to the website of Knighton Town Silver Band. We are a local community band, based in mid Wales, on the border with England.
The band comprises players of all ages and abilities, and with its welcoming and friendly atmosphere, will always encourage new players.
Our repertoire is varied, and includes many styles of music, such as traditional marches and overtures, classical, jazz and Latin American, as well as TV and film themes.
We have a busy engagement’s schedule, especially through the summer months where we perform at various carnivals, fetes and festivals. As well as this we also take part in civic and charity events, Christmas carol playing and services. The band has two main concerts of its own –in spring and autumn.
Currently the band is very fortunate to be led by Musical Director Steve Edwards, of Newtown. He brings a wealth of experience and banding knowledge, having played and conducted at the highest levels.
